On Sunday, June 27, the movie "Space Spirit, A Journey Into Your Consciousness," will be shown in Pagosa Springs as part of the monthly Alternative Movie series sponsored by Southwest Light and Learning Center.

Space Spirit explores reincarnation, crossing over and quantum physics, unlocking the secrets of the soul, out-of-body experiences and more. This event is free and open to the public, and donations are accepted to support Southwest Light Center.

Our next Alternative Monthly Movie will be shown on Sunday, April 25 at 3 pm at the Pagosah Unitarian Universalist Fellowship.

SUGAR: THE BITTER TRUTH is a documentary with Robert Lustig, MD, a Professor Pediatrics, Division of Endocrinology at the University of California, San Francisco.

How would it change your life if you learned that every day 25 percent of your calories came from a poison, disguised as food? Dr. Lustig will enthrall you with the biochemistry, public health, clinical research, racial innuendoes and politics of sugar.

This video is more than just exposing the dangers of corn syrup, Aspartame or Splenda. It documents how our bodies digest the food that we eat each ancd every day. Do beer and Coke digest the same?

Join us on Sunday, April 25 in Pagosa Springs, Colo. This event is free and open to the public, with donations accepted to help support Southwest Light and Learning Center, a nonprofit institute for higher awareness. Tea and a light snack will be served.

Southwest Light and Learning Center is offering its first one-day double seminar on Saturday, May 1, at the Pagosa Springs Community Center (Arts & Crafts Room).

Starting at 10 am, Niara Terela will present ECODOME EARTHBAG BUILDING, which is free and open to the public, with donations accepted to help support both Four Corners Affordable Sustainable Housing and Southwest Light Center.

There will be an optional potluck lunch in between seminars.

At 1:00 Dennis Whitney of Aztec, N.M., will present SOUTHWEST SOLAR OVENS for $15 per student. Dennis will teach the function and capabilities of solar ovens, and show how to build one. He will explain exactly how they work, how they are built, and where to purchase one, as well as what to cook in one. There will be an outdoor demonstration. So far, Southwest Light and Learning Center, the new nonprofit institute for higher awareness in Pagosa Springs, Colo., has shown two alternative movies... and will be showing THE BITTER TRUTH on Sunday, April 25.

In March we watched Niara Isley's phenomenal talk at the Laughlin, Nevada UFO Congress last February, when she told about her personal experiences with "Government-Sponsored Covert Ops and Military Abductions." Niara's heart-wrenching story earned her a standing ovation.

After viewing the one-hour presentation, Niara was present to answer questions and talk further about her experiences.

In April we will be showing "The Bitter Truth," a documentary with Robert Lustig, MD, on the dangers of high fructose corn syrup, which is in a lot more of our consumable food and drink products than you may realize.

In its community debut, the nonprofit Southwest Light & Learning Center will host the February "Alternative Monthly Movie" on Sunday, Feb. 28, beginning at 2 pm, at the Community Center in Pagosa Springs.

"Aerosol Crimes" is a 100-minute documentary by Clifford Carnicom of Santa Fe. Carnicom is considered by many to be the top expert on chemtrails. He created the film as the first documentary on scientific research on chemtrails, and has since pursued research on synthetic organisms found in chemtrails. Carnicom has a nonprofit research organization called  Carnicom Institute.

Southwest Light & Learning Center is an extracurricular institute for higher awareness based in Pagosa Springs, Colorado. Its purpose is to provide classes, seminars and retreats at low cost in order to help people adapt to change. With the downswing in the economy and instability increasing in our society, the nonprofit institute hopes to use local and regional resources -- including teachers, healers and independent thinkers -- to provide opportunities for people to learn about sustainable living, self-sufficiency and broaden community mindedness.

In addition to providing a diverse curriculum that focuses on the arts, plus healing and the environment, Southwest Light & Learning Center will serve as a focal point for those who offer therapy or services such as life coaching, massage therapy, transpersonal assistance, and more.

The learning center hopes to recruit teachers and facilitators for its first six-week session of classes beginning in March or April. The institute will host a two-day conference in May and September each year, and will offer seminars and retreats throughout the year. Both adults and children can benefit from what Southwest Light has to offer.

The kick-off event on Feb. 28 is the first of Southwest Light's "Alternative Monthly Movie" series, in which educational films will be shown, followed by discussion. These events are free and open to the public, with donations accepted to support Southwest Light & Learning Center. This first meeting will be followed by a potluck for those who wish to stay after the film and the discussion. Door prizes will be awarded at this kick-off event.

At last... Southwest Light and Learning Center, the new nonprofit for extracurricular courses in higher awareness, is kicking off with its first event... the showing of the film SUGAR -- THE BITTER TRUTH. We plan to show the film to the public on or around Sunday, February 21, 2010. Time and place are yet to be announced, but check UPCOMING CONFERENCES to find out the details.

This film is an astounding documentary that will convince you how toxic high fructose corn syrup is, and how it has had a major impact on the obesity epidemic not only in this country, but around the world. Dr. Robert H. Lustig gives a lecture to a group of biochemistry students and his evidence will make you think twice about reaching for that Coke or Pepsi.

The hazards of sugar consumption need to be addressed, and the problem observed... and then you make up your own mind.

The weekend of Sept. 25-27 was the Galactic Gathering at the Denver Tech Center. I attended with my friend Niara, the Durango Exopolitics lady who writes for the Denver Examiner as their Extraterrestrial Contact examiner.

It was a great gathering with several interesting and well known speakers, starting with Rainbow Eagle on Friday evening. Rainbow Eagle was a good choice to launch the conference with his Light and knowledge of Native American teachings and traditions.

Saturday morning was Dr. Arthur David Horn, a physical anthropologist who left academia because it was becoming too materialistic. He has a book, Humanity's Extraterrestrial Origins: ET Influences on Biologcail and Cultural Evolution, published in 1994.

Dr. Leo Sprinkle, legendary pioneer in UFO contact research, spoke next, talking about Levels of Consciousness and a Model of Suffering and ways to resolve it. Leo is an entertaining and well liked speaker.

Wendelle Stevens, retired USAF pilot, talked on the Pleiadians and their contacts. Wendelle has published more than 30 books on UFO contact cases and was one of the first to discover Swiss farmer Billy Meier, who had life-long contact with the Plejarans/Pleiadians.

Dr. Norma A. Milanovich spoke Saturday evening and delivered a message she had received just days before from Ascended Master Kuthumi, directed at the participants at the conference. Her talk was stimulating and enlightening, and Kuthumi told us a Portal of Light was being activated over Denver at midnight on the 27th.

Ron Regehr was the first speaker on Sunday morning. Ron gave a lesson in petroglyph interpretation. A retired aerospace engineer who worked in space surveillance systems, he has been a ufologist for over 50 years.

Next on the list was Sheldan Nidle of the Planetary Activation Organization, who spoke on "Becoming a Galactic Human." Things really started to get interesting when he began explaining the things he had seen and experienced on board the Sirian ships.

The final presentation was given by Stan Romanek, a contactee/abductee from Denver, who had an intriguing story to tell, illustrated by slides and video footage and audio recordings. It was the most interesting contact case I have ever encountered and the audience just wanted to hear more and more... but time ran out.

For more than a decade Earth Star's Galactic Friendship Club has been in place. It was fairly active toward the end of the century and on into 2000-2005. Then it began to fizzle.

Lately there have been individuals wanting to join. I had pretty much decided to do away with the Friendship Club because no one ever participates in it. New people join, send a few letters, but I never know if they receive any replies.

It's hard to decide what to do about it. Part of me wants to go ahead and revise the Club, and send out new profile directories to the members and try to revive it with some exciting perks. There is still a need for people who are reaching out to find like-minded pen pals and friends.

Then there is the part of me that is reminded that I have taken on way too much already. With lots of irons in the fire right now, how am I going to handle yet another project?

The Friendship Club is NOT a money-making thing, quite the opposite. Yet it part of Earth Star's mission to help Terrans step into the New Age. I'd like some feedback on anyone who thinks the Friendship Club should continue... or be changed. Right now it's $10 to join (lifetime membership!) and you fill out a profile on yourself using a "code name." Then I send you the complete Profile Directory, which includes your listing, for you to pick out as many new friends as you may wish to write to. It's really kind of fun.

But if no one participates, that's another thing.

Probably at least once in your life you will experience what is known as a "toxic relationship" -- one in which you feel victimized by somebody or they make you feel uncomfortable. It can be a partner or it can be a friend.

Once you recognize that a friendship has gone "toxic," it's important to take steps either to remedy the situation (confront the friend and explain why they are causing problems in your relationship) or end it.
