Welcome to the Stucker Mesa
MULE Page
Our three mules
have been sold
This page is dedicated in their memory
Here's Miranda with Ethan
What is a mule?
A mule is a cross between a female horse (a mare) and a male donkey (an ass). Because the resulting progeny is a
hybrid, mules do not reproduce. Practically 100 percent of male mules are sterile. Female mules go into a "false heat," and in very rare circumstances they can become pregnant. When there is a cross between a female donkey (jenny) and a horse, the result is what is known as a
"hinny". Although there are differences, a hinny resembles a mule.

Ann and Miranda
Miranda is a
molly mule. She is approximately 19 years old. She is gentle, friendly and can be ridden by anybody. Miranda has two speeds: slow and stop. So if you're looking for a fast ride, forget it.
Koko is the dark-skinned gelding with the white stockings.
Miranda is the brown molly. Koko
thinks Miranda is his "mother."
Koko is a
gelding, which means he is a castrated male, who is approximately 15 years old. He's starting to get gray in a few places. Male mules that are castrated are also known as
johns. If they are not castrated, they are
jacks. Koko is considered a very attractive mule. His white stockings make him outstandingly attractive and the shape of his head is appealing.
Here the mules are stuffing their faces with hay at the haybunk inside the corral.
These three mules have been together for six years,
Miranda and Koko much longer than that. We are looking for a home where all
three can stay together, if at all possible!

Jenny is a small molly, approximately
14 years old, possibly with some burro heritage. Jenny is quite spirited and provides a fast ride.
Jenny

I hope you have enjoyed this brief visit with the mules of Stucker Mesa.
We have enjoyed taking care of these critters. Both Jenny
and Miranda can be ridden. Miranda is EXTRA GENTLE. Koko
is a pack mule and
doesn't carry humans on his back.
