These are exciting times. Irene Dickson's letter reminded me that I've been wanting to discuss our
"ghosts" for some time. Yes, we have ghosts at least that's what we call them. I'm inclined to
think that they are actually beings in another dimension, and that the dimensions are starting to
overlap. Some are able to see into the other realms, especially animals and those who have
developed their third eye.
We have lived in our present house for not quite a year. I was reluctant, at first, to make the move
from my comfortable mobile home on the property into the log house that longtime friend, Julian
Joyce, lived in since 1969. When Julian passed on in January 2000, we knew we would be moving
in at some point and fixing the house up to suit us. I suppose my reluctance stemmed mostly from
the "dark gloom" of the place. It was a dreary house, in need of care and remodeling. Although
the furnishings and decor were probably satisfactory for Julian, who lived alone for most of those
years, I was not happy with any of it. And for six months the house sat unoccupied.
At the end of June a year ago, we moved our stuff in and it seemed to help, having our stuff there,
but the house was still a long ways from being our home. Remodeling did not begin until January
of this year, starting with the kitchen and progressing to a new bathroom in what used to be
Julian's office. The two old bathrooms, one of which was barely functional, have come out and in
their place Veda Vastu contractor Ron Quinn is constructing the new master bedroom and bath.
Already the energy has changed so much in our house. Opening up the wall to blend the kitchen
with the living room helped tremendously.
But let me get back to the discussion at hand -- the ghosts. How do I know they are there? I
haven't seen them with my physical eyes yet, but Ethan has, and so have others visiting us. Our
dog, Ranger, has seen the ghosts and, in fact, he never reacts in fear just barking letting us
know that "intruders" are around.
We had a phantom cat over in the mobile home, and I think it followed us over to the house. It is
orange, like our live orange tabby, "Mu," only it isn't Mu. Ethan says he has seen it and that's
how I know it's orange. I've often wondered if it could be Mu's twin brother, "Maui," who died
years ago but is still hanging around his sister. Sometimes we'll feel the phantom cat on the foot
of the bed.
I believed Ethan's reports when my digital camera began picking up images. On Ranger's
birthday, Jan. 30, we decided to take pictures of him with his angel cake. That's when I
discovered strange balls of light and faces of spirits in the room they appeared on the screen of
my computer. And when I went into my Photoshop software to try to enlarge and enhance the
images, I could see clearly that they really were faces and balls of energy.
The strange thing is, if I use the digital camera in other parts of the house, or outside, I don't get
the strange objects. It happens every time I take pictures in the living room of our house. That's
where the ghosts are. In one of the shots that Ethan took of me talking on the phone with my son,
there are various entities in the background, especially near the ceiling, and you can even make
out an old man holding a limp child in his arms.

We have had several items mysteriously disappear on the property, for which there was no logical
explanation. There apparently is a garage ghost as well, who keeps hiding things from Ethan, and
sometimes the tools turn up in obscure places later. Things have happened mischievous things,
not necessarily malicious that have led us to believe that a ghost sometimes plays with our lives,
often causing annoyance and confusion. We've learned to shrug it off as "just the ghosts again."
Quite often these phenomena are harmless. We dwell in multiple dimensions, but usually only
view the one that is predominant. If ghostly presence gets to be too much of a strain or turns into
possession, causing harm to ourselves and others, then it's time to seek help. There are things we
can do to protect ourselves, such as smudging, doing white candle rituals, house blessings, always
remembering to pray before meditating, etc. Mostly, staying in love and light is all that is needed
and not letting yourself succumb to fear. Fear can be a powerful weapon, but love is a stronger
defense and will always prevail.
