In his life, Dr. Karl Jung labeled a certain phenomenon he had observed as "synchronicity." Most dictionaries do not list the term. The extensive ones define the term as "meaningful coincidence." For more than 30 years I have observed and studied this phenomenon. It is the purpose of this treatise to present the findings of my studies.
Definition: A methodology for a contemplative science based on observation, interpretation of, and interaction with informational energy as synchronicity.
AUTHOR’S NOTE:
1. Consciousness exists as an attempt by a Creative Energy to communicate with Its creation.
2. All is energy.
3. All is informational energy.
4. Informational energy exists as free energy or in stasis as matter.
5. The universe functions synchronously. Therefore, informational energy of the past, present and future exist simultaneously (the Simultaneity Factor).
6. Informational energy is ubiquitous.
7. Informational energy is omnifarious.
8. The informational relevance of a synchronicity may be measured by its repetitiveness and its duration of manifestation (the DOM Factor).
9. Informational energy may function serendipitously.
10. Informational energy exists as observable synchronicities.
Blue -- Be strong (physically or mentally)
White -- Be steady to your purpose
Red -- Be quiet and listen
Yellow -- Be cautious (the caution of a prudent individual in a given situation)
Green -- Be aware of another life form
Brown -- Use maturity in your thinking
Black -- Exercise good judgment in your actions
1 = Yes, right, affirmative
2 = Yourself and another; with emphasis on your interrelationship of the moment
3 = The key; an Answer to a question or solution to a problem
4 = Be cautious (see Yellow)
5 = Love (an action taken having a beneficial effect)
6 = Yourself
7 = Be aware of another life form (see Green)
8 = Stop (a period of punctuation mark: 88 = an exclamation point)
9 = Here’s where it’s at -- here’s where your focus should be
0 = Look around (physically or mentally)
The two displines herein outlined serve as a beginning method of observing and interacting with synchronicities.
Find a quiet spot. Allow color to flow into your awareness. Consciously react to color as indicated. Work with color until you can automatically react, then add the number game.
With numbers you are observing, with all five senses, informational energy in any perceivable shape, form, content or sound. It will all decode digitally.
In your practice pretend you are communicating with Planet Earth, or perhaps the Universe. It’s fun that way, and not boredom.
What is the point of all this? Frankly, we live in a noisy, hurry-up baubles-and-beads world. Much of our time is spent tuning out. These techniques tune us in. You can develop two levels of awareness: one of simple survival, one for more meaningful things. They can both operate simultaneously. In the final analysis, one could probably label Synchronistics as "focused meditation."
The author spent the ’60s as a guide, outfitter, commercial fisherman, and later, a game warden. This necessitated much time alone in rural isolation. In 1952, ’58, and again in 1959, I had experienced some anomalous events that convinced me there were things going on in the boondocks that our present science did not cover, much less explain.
Beginning in September 1970, I encountered a series of bizarre events that lasted approximately two months. At first I perceived it as unrelated phenomena. Later I began to see it as "The Phenomenon." Regardless of labels, my life had been turned upside down as though I were a powerless pawn. Although I was quite resentful, I also had had my curiosity aroused. I wanted to be able to explain to myself what had happened. So, 15 years later, I had reached a tentative conclusion, which I simply called "the UTI Hypothesis," UTI meaning "Ubiquitous Terrestrial Intelligence." At that time I had only personal experience and anecdotal data from others on which to base my beliefs. Here we are another 15 years later, and I believe that Synchronistics is the testing method to prove or disprove the UTI Hypothesis.
1. Planet Earth is a sentient organic intelligence.
2. It is informational energy.
3. It is capable of manifesting informational energy in fashions we would term anomalistic.
4. Earth attempts to communicate with its inhabitants.
5. Synchronistics provides one potential method for testing these premises.
As an abused child I rejected organized religious tenets. Certainly in high school and college I would have considered myself an agnostic. However, as a voracious reader topic is unimportant, and secondary to new information and insights. So it was somewhat interesting that perhaps 20 years ago I began to realize that every new insight I was gaining seemed to easily synthesize religion and science. As an example, Premise No. 1, concerning creative energy, is the basic tenet of all religions. Yet Premise No. 2 is pure Einsteinian Science. Premise No. 5 and the "Simultaneity Factor" is simply an elongated expression of the Buddhist "Eternal Now."
The concept of UTI as a planetary consciousness might emanate from the Star Trek era, yet in both the Old and New Testaments there are at least seven mentions of "The Lord of the whole uninhabited earth." The native Algonquins’ concept of Gitche Manitou, "The Essence of All Things," is easier understood today as "all is informational energy." Also, their cultural beliefs that everything had a manitou and the rocks, trees, water and wind could speak, perhaps could be substantiated if we can prove that informational energy is ubiquitous and omnifarious.
One of the most potentially interesting synthesis parallels might be the concept of a personal science, yielding wanted data, and that which is written in the book of Deuteronomy 30: 11-14.
In presenting Synchronistics to any and all, I am purposefully keeping this treatise as brief as possible. The past 30 years have taught me a great lesson: There is no greater joy than discovery!
