The Day After
Mood:  spacey
Topic: After the book signing
It was wonderful to see people turn out for the combined book signing for Commander Sanni Ceto and myself yesterday. Lots of people came through. In fact, the place was bubbling with activity and interesting conversation the entire two hours.

We munched the homemade cookies I had made (peanut butter, choco chip and ginger) and drank tea provided by bookstore owner Stephanie LaTourette, a most gracious hostess.

Sanni wore her new "Stranded on Earth" T-shirt that her "sweetie" sent her, only the graphic was printed on the back and she wore it so the UFO showed on the front. You wouldn't know except that the T-shirt had a pocket that was on her back! (typical ET mixup)

Sales weren't great, but then a lot of people had already bought their books, so we just enjoyed discussion and visiting. Commander Ceto talked to people about her life, her experiences, and what she is doing here. No one criticized her. Some were in awe!

My co-worker Laura P. won the drawing for the ET doll, so I will have the pleasure of presenting her with her prize at work today.

I am grateful for the support shown by the community and our friends by stopping in at this book signing! Thank you, everyone!!!

The Light Being can be purchased on the Web site at https://earthstar.tripod.com/LightBeing.html. Send me an e-mail and I'll autograph it personally for you.

Happy Spring!

The desert in its glory
Topic: Nevada desert vacation
We just returned from a four-day weekend trip to Nevada and the east end of Death Valley. The weather was glorious and the wildflowers were still rallying! It was such a high to climb among the hills and take photos of the beautiful life in all its colors, shapes and splendor.

I haven't downloaded my camera yet, but my brother sent his pictures and they mean that much more because we were there. I love the desert and often miss my annual treks to Why, Arizona, where we used to go. The desert is a little different there than in Nevada, but still wonderful.

We returned to the mountains, to wind and colder weather, but quite soon now Spring will burst through. The birds are already filling the morning air with their arias, and the valley bottoms are covered in green with the mountaintops frosted yet in snow. Springtime in the Rockies is a fickle time of year, but one not to be missed.

Self-Righteous Folks
Mood:  irritated
Topic: The Shiavo Case
I'm more than a bit irritated with all the hype generated by the Terri Shiavo case in Florida. And I certainly DO NOT appreciate getting self-righteous e-mails from folks who accuse me of being an accomplice in her murder because I don't agree with their view on the whole messy subject. What gives them the right to judge?

The woman has been a vegetable for 15 years. Doctors have determined her chances of getting any better are practically nil... and yes, it's sad! It's a tragedy! But how would this poor woman feel if she knew the whole world was looking at her and that all of this nonsense was going on, in order to puff up the opportunistic conservatives supposedly leading our country? If I were that woman, I'd be horrified.

This is nothing more than a political ploy and a distraction from real issues. How dare these leaders of our country champion the "morality" of this one instance when they have sent thousands to their death in a senseless war? What freedom are they fighting for? Not ours, I can assure you.

Read Davina Ryszka's letter to the editor that will be appearing in the April issue of The Star Beacon. I'm putting it up early because it's that important!

Starting Over
Mood:  bright
Topic: Positive Attitude
Well, we had a disappointing weekend. My expectations were up for the Whole Life Expo in Montrose, Colo., on Saturday. We had a nice display of our books, T-shirts (NEW designs) and a lot of other new cool stuff to sell... but, alas... people just weren't in the buying mood.

We lost money. But we are still glad we went. We got to see some people we hadn't seen in a while, and we met some new faces. It was kind of fun... just not as fun as if business were booming!

Oh well. It's a little disappointing when you've got all these NEW THINGS to show to the world, and nobody's interested. Makes you wonder what you're doing in the first place.

But... it's Monday. It's a NEW WEEK and a time to start over, fresh. So what if the Expo bombed? We will just move on and go to Plan B. Thank goodness there are Mondays in the world, and mornings in which to start all over again.

I guess the best way to overcome disappointment is not to have any expectations in the first place. Next time I'll remember that.

What's an Off Season?
Mood:  surprised
Topic: Where did February go?
I have no idea what happened to February. Suddenly I checked my Blog and saw that NO entries have been made in the month of February! What happened? Missing time?'

Hardly... Life has been BUSY. Things were supposed to slow down after the holidays. But that didn't happen this year. I've been slapped with one project on top of another, and hardly any room to breathe in between.

Oh, I know, it's better than the alternative. But I AM looking forward to a slower pace SOON. I just don't know when that will occur. Has Time been speeding up? Sometimes it seems like it.

Here it is the first weekend in March and Spring is around the corner. I heard redwing blackbirds in a chorus the other day, and the cranes are at the Monte Vista Wildlife Refuge. I'll be too busy to go see them this year (drag).

I don't want Life to pass me by. This working for a living is getting in the way of LIFE!

Spring in January
Mood:  not sure
Topic: Springtime in January
Unbelievable... temps in the 50s, sunshine that makes you want to BURST!! And I had to be cooped up inside a newspaper office all day.

A January thaw really isn't that unusual. But we had warm temperatures and RAIN just a couple of weeks ago, when Calif. was getting clobbered with snow and there was even snow in Hawaii. Go figure.

Spring Fever is about to hit our valley. I just hope the fruit trees don't catch it. Those daring apricot trees are always anxious to be the first to bud... and then the FROST comes and hits them hard.

I'm hungry for apricots this year, but I'm willing to WAIT!!!

Oh well, I'll enjoy the mild temps while we've got them, and the lovely blue skies... maybe there will be enough snow on Stevens Gulch this weekend to get out the cross-country skis for a jaunt.

Sample Chapter
Mood:  happy
Now Playing: Sudden Darkness
Now you can read a sample chapter of THE LIGHT BEING. Chapter 8, "Sudden Darkness," portrays the events that fall upon Earth when the Sun enters the Photon Belt and puts the planet into the "Null Zone."

Imagine driving along Interstate 80 on a June morning, and suddenly the sky turns a funny reddish color and within minutes everything is BLACK! Worse yet... your car dies, along with everyone else's on the road... and even flashlight batteries won't work.

What do you do?!!

Well, Blake Dobbs had an idea...

You can read the sample chapter from my NEW BOOK at https://earthstar.tripod.com/TLBChapter8.html

ENJOY!!

EFT really helps!
Mood:  caffeinated
Topic: EFT a miraculous tool
Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT) is probably the best tool I've found to help with any kind of stress or affliction in your life.

You get IMMEDIATE RELIEF by doing the tapping and going through the ritual of the technique. The tapping is not "hocus pocus." You are stimulating acupressure points on your body (meridians) and it really does work.

I hadn't done my EFT exercises in a while... too busy... SAME OLD EXCUSE!! But I had need to use it at work yesterday, when I was feeling some major frustration and resentment.

The answer? I went into the bathroom and ran through the tapping sequence, concentrating on my "problem." When I came out of there, I had a totally different attitude and was more relaxed and ready to face the world.

Learn the technique. You will have INSTANT SUCCESS, I assure you.

I was amazed at how it has "cured" my phobia of worms. I have a few more phobias to work on... when I'm ready to let those go.

See Hannah Beaconsfield's article in this month's Star Beacon for more information.
