Going Nowhere
Mood:  lazy
Topic: lazy afternoon
Isn't it great when all you get to do is stay home? You have nowhere to go, nothing to do, just plenty of moments to putter - do whatever.

Days like this don't come around too often for me. That's why when one does, I cherish it. One day I'll look back and think, remember that day when I had nowhere to go?

It's a Beautiful Day
Mood:  bright
Topic: Life is a gift
Don't you love it when you wake up to a sunny new day? This is Indian Summer in western Colorado, and we treasure these last cherished days before winter sets in.

This morning I went with my husband and our dog to the mountains, where it had snowed, to cut a load of firewood for the winter. The aspen trees were stark naked against a crystal blue sky -- it was AWESOME!!

It just felt so wonderful to be alive and to dwell in peaceful surroundings, especially after such a challenging week in which many of us were in shock over the presidential election.

When you feel yourself getting too involved in Earth's negative side... escape to a beautiful place. There are still lovely places to visit on this planet, if you seek them out. We are so lucky to have it right in our own backyard.

Let's pray that Light and Love can overcome those who would exploit our beautiful environment for reasons of greed and prestige for themselves. We must do our part to ensure these special places on our planet, where we can nurture our souls, will continue to exist.

Recovering from Dark Tuesday
Mood:  sad
Topic: post-election depression
It's been a blow to most of us who had high hopes that things were going to get better. Last Tuesday's election results shocked everyone I know. Wednesday at work it was like a tomb. Getting through the day was difficult. How could this happen? We were so confident and hopeful.

Well, the anger and bitterness that erupted in me Wednesday did no good. It only fed the climate of negativity and dread for what is to come the next four years. If Americans have truly chosen this path (and I have my doubts, because I can't believe it wasn't rigged), then perhaps they deserve what is going to happen. More freedoms torn from them... more economic hardships, more of our young people sent off to fight an immoral war! (And the Republicans have the GALL to talk about morals!!!)

On the other hand, Spirit has a way of directing life and everything is happening for a reason. It is time to let go and let God. I've decided to drop my hurt and anger and take up the shield of Compassion. The Earth has never needed more of it than it needs it now.
