November Star Beacon is on line
Mood:  energetic
Topic: Are You Shifting Reality?
The November Star Beacon has just been put up on Earth Star's Web page. Check it out. Cynthia Sue Larson's lead article, "Are You Shifting Reality?", gives some insight on things that happen to us.

Two important people in ufology passed on this fall, Dr. John Mack and Betty Hill. I'm sure they will continue their important work from the Other Side.

Sanni wraps up her Space Beings series with the third installment of colorful illustrations of people from distant worlds. Next year she should have a second book out about her knowledge of space and those who dwell there.

The Golden Eagle Woman (Arda) is promoting her book, Through This Myth We Call Illusion. It's a dandy one, with ordering info available through her at gldneglewoman@juno.com.

Hannah Beaconsfield "converses" with Thomas Jefferson this month about the democratic ideal.
And John Cali consults Chief Joseph on what we can do when we are spinning out of control.

Don't forget Quado's column on "Envy," something most all of us have felt at one time or another. We can turn it to our advantage.

November's issue is available in PDF format or print. Only certain articles go up on the Web site. If you'd like to read the entire issue, please contact me at earthstar@tripod.net.

An Amazing Nephew on Veterans Day
Mood:  special
Now Playing: Sun, Sin and Suburbia
It's my nephew's birthday today (Veterans Day) and I am one proud aunt. Geoff Schumacher, publisher of the Las Vegas Mercury, just came out with his first book, titled SUN, SIN AND SUBURBIA, An Essential History of Modern Las Vegas. The book is published by Stephens Press, LLC.

Congratulations, Geoff! And I hope you are having a happy birthday. To check out this book, visit Stephens Press at www.stephenspress.com.

I'd like to salute all the veterans around the world today. My brother Jim is included, as well as my Uncle Ken. We are grateful to you all. God Bless This Planet!!!

Solar headache?
Mood:  don't ask
Topic: headaches
In order to know what it's like to really feel good, every once in a while you've got to experience a DAY OF PAIN.

That is what is going on today, in the form of a HEADACHE. Some would say that it's the worst kind of pain a person can have. Sometimes I agree, but it depends on the degree of the headache. This one scores about an 8 out of 10. In other words, I've had worse.

I neglected to take painkiller for it first thing this morning. Big mistake. Once a headache sets in and grabs hold of your brain, forget about taking anything to relieve it. It's got you.

I've heard that solar flares can cause headache reactions. It just so happens we've just experienced some sun storms. How much truth there is in this I have no idea. But my son will experience headaches at the same times I do.

Any more I just suffer through it, trying to do my work, knowing it will eventually pass. Tomorrow, when I'm headache-free, I will rejoice again about how wonderful Life is.

Happy Birthday, Mom
Mood:  celebratory
Topic: It's Mom's 84th birthday
My mother turned 84 today. She is cherished by all six of her kids, as well as 14 grandchildren (hope I got that count right!), in addition to nine great-grandchildren!

Mom was a "stay home" mother all the time that I was growing up in that suburb of Madison, Wis. We could always count on her being there when we got home from school.

I remember piles of laundry waiting to be ironed, lots of "hot dish" meals, and the morning coffee klutches on summer days with the neighbors. Mom was always calm, never in a hurry to get housework done, and she enjoyed her TV "stories."

For decades she longed to return to the warm climate of Southern California, and in 1993 she and Dad made it as far as Nevada, where she is today... but without Dad as he made his transition in 1999. She loves the desert clime and her house and her interaction with Eastern Star and the church.

Hope your birthday is fantastic, Mother!!!

Going Nowhere
Mood:  lazy
Topic: lazy afternoon
Isn't it great when all you get to do is stay home? You have nowhere to go, nothing to do, just plenty of moments to putter - do whatever.

Days like this don't come around too often for me. That's why when one does, I cherish it. One day I'll look back and think, remember that day when I had nowhere to go?

It's a Beautiful Day
Mood:  bright
Topic: Life is a gift
Don't you love it when you wake up to a sunny new day? This is Indian Summer in western Colorado, and we treasure these last cherished days before winter sets in.

This morning I went with my husband and our dog to the mountains, where it had snowed, to cut a load of firewood for the winter. The aspen trees were stark naked against a crystal blue sky -- it was AWESOME!!

It just felt so wonderful to be alive and to dwell in peaceful surroundings, especially after such a challenging week in which many of us were in shock over the presidential election.

When you feel yourself getting too involved in Earth's negative side... escape to a beautiful place. There are still lovely places to visit on this planet, if you seek them out. We are so lucky to have it right in our own backyard.

Let's pray that Light and Love can overcome those who would exploit our beautiful environment for reasons of greed and prestige for themselves. We must do our part to ensure these special places on our planet, where we can nurture our souls, will continue to exist.

Recovering from Dark Tuesday
Mood:  sad
Topic: post-election depression
It's been a blow to most of us who had high hopes that things were going to get better. Last Tuesday's election results shocked everyone I know. Wednesday at work it was like a tomb. Getting through the day was difficult. How could this happen? We were so confident and hopeful.

Well, the anger and bitterness that erupted in me Wednesday did no good. It only fed the climate of negativity and dread for what is to come the next four years. If Americans have truly chosen this path (and I have my doubts, because I can't believe it wasn't rigged), then perhaps they deserve what is going to happen. More freedoms torn from them... more economic hardships, more of our young people sent off to fight an immoral war! (And the Republicans have the GALL to talk about morals!!!)

On the other hand, Spirit has a way of directing life and everything is happening for a reason. It is time to let go and let God. I've decided to drop my hurt and anger and take up the shield of Compassion. The Earth has never needed more of it than it needs it now.
