SHADOWS OF LIGHT
A new book is out, written by Kanai Callow, who wrote
The Star Travelers. Her latest book, Shadows of Light, published by
AuthorHouse in January, tells of her early life and the experiences that led
to her present, most interesting life on this planet. Kanai is an enigma, an
incredibly multi-
talented woman who has been all over the world and has produced a great number
of songs and poems.
Although I have just started reading her book, I can see already
that I’m going to enjoy learning more about a friend I’ve cherished since the
mid ’80s, when I first met her and became enraptured by the music she and her
former husband, Richard Gregory, sang and produced. That music is still
available in cassette or CD directly from Kanai, as well as her beautifully
designed autobiography. The book is $20 postpaid and an autographed copy from
her can be had by sending a check to Kanai Callow, P.O. Box 2566, Bellingham,
WA 98227.
MUFON DIRECTOR INTERVIEWED
MUFON international director James
Carrion was recently written up in The Denver Post. In the Feb. 12
article, staff writer Monte Whaley interviewed the 41-year-old former Army
intelligence officer who directs 400 field investigators — all certified by
MUFON. Mutual UFO Network is a nonprofit organization that interviews
witnesses of UFO sightings, examine possible landing sites, and review weather
and astronomical data to determine whether a sighting is explainable, or truly
unidentified.
MUFON’s world headquarters was recently moved from a Littleton,
Colo., storefront to Carrion’s home in Bellvue, Colo. Carrion himself admits
that he has never seen a UFO.
Most sightings can be explained, according to Carrion, but about
10 to 15 percent of them turn out to be something inexplicable. The group
investigates about 2,400 cases a year.
According to a Colorado State University astronomy professor,
Roger Culver, no individual or organization has been able to produce
dead-on, irrefutable proof that alien beings sometimes visit us. At the same
time, no UFO or alien has slipped out from under the blanket of secrecy the
government has allegedly thrown over UFOs.
Carrion is convinced the government is hiding information from the
public about encounters people have with spacecraft and entitites not of this
world. He realizes some people want to perpetuate the mystery of UFOs, but he
has a passion for truth, he says, and wants “to see a conclusion to this.”

THANKS, MERRILEE
On Feb. 4, Merrilee Kinzie of
Arkansas was able to get on the air at 3:20 a.m., on the Coast to Coast
radio program. She managed to talk briefly about Commander Sanni Ceto’s book,
Stranded On Earth, The Story of a Roswell Crash Survivor.
FLYING SAUCER DIGEST
Rick and Carol Hilberg of
Berea, Ohio, put out a quarterly newsletter called Flying Saucer Digest,
which mentions several interesting incidents each issue. In their recent
winter issue, they tell of the autumn sightings reported in Tinley Park, Ill.,
between Aug. 21, 2004 and Oct. 1, 2005. Peter Davenport of the National
UFO Reporting Center said there were dozens of calls on each of those nights.
Multiple witnesses saw three red, silent, slow-moving olights in the sky over
Tinley Park and Oak Park, and video footage, particularly from Aug. 21, 2004,
is striking.
Other reports in the winter issue include a disk spotted Jan. 3 in
Mentor, Ohio, and the Chicago incident in which a flying saucer-like object
hovered low over O’Hare International Airport for several minutes before
bolting through thick clouds and leaving an eerie hole in overcast skies,
according to some United Airlines employees who observed the phenomenon. The
Nov. 7 event, although reported to the airline by as many as a dozen of its
employees, was apparently not seen by controllers, and a preliminary check or
radar found nothing out of the ordinary, according to an FAA spokeswoman. “It
was like somebody punched a hole in the sky,” one witness explained. The hole
disappeared within a few minutes.
Besides other Midwestern sightings, they reported on a strange
cloud and UFOs near Apache Junction, Ariz. To subscribe for a year is just
$10. Write to FSD, 377 Race St., Berea OH 44017.

SETTLING IN
Thanks to everyone who has sent well
wishes, cards or e-mails after learning about our move from Colorado to Ohio.
I am happy to report that Ethan is doing much better in this climate and is
reporting that he feels better and likes it here very much.
Cell phones don’t work here, but I finally got my Internet (starbeacon@gmail.com)
via satellite. We’re taking one day at a time, and most happy that spring is
right around the corner.
