As I was walking
Out one night,
I saw a glow
And got a fright.
Two creatures
That came from a dream
Came down
In a fluorescent beam.
They told me
That I should know
How the world would be,
How the world would go.
All of a sudden,
In a flash it was not,
I wasn’t there,
I was in a different spot.
Ten cars flew
Over my head,
And some of the things
Are to be left unsaid.
The buildings floated
Above the ground,
Buses flew
Without making a sound.
The ground was a place
Of wonderful green,
It was great,
The best ever seen.
And then it was gone,
Just as before.
I found myself sitting
On my own bedroom floor.
I don’t know
What those aliens meant.
But I dream of the place
Where I was sent.
