Cosmic Book Reviews |
from the October 2007 Star Beacon

Review by Chrystle Clae
Strieber's novel
The Grays filled with suspense
The Grays
by Whitley Strieber
ISBN 0-765313-89-8
Tor Books, August 2006
336 pages, hardback and paperback
The Grays is set in present day Madison, Wis., where a 9-year-old young man,
Conner Callaghan, lives with his professor parents, in an obscure college
section of Madison.
Mr. Streiber once again suggests that the Grays orchestrate our lives; from
whom we meet and marry, to what specific genes Conner possesses from several
generations before him.
Subject matter such as the last remaining Gray from Roswell, who later makes a
rare sacrifice to continue the current “triad,” known as “the three thieves,”
to continue.
We are all left to wonder at all the mindboggling abilities of invisible
crafts, holographic woods, and the mind-reading skills given to Conner, to
hopefully save our human race... but to what end?
The covert military are written as the usual fear-driven, evil killers of the
Grays, and humans. They include plans to cause an earthquake and hostile
behavior of the people in the Callaghan’s home town.
Most of the hypnotizing and implantation is done by these black ops.
Mr. Streiber has written an excellent suspense-filled, compelling story that,
in the end, leaves room for a sequel to follow. “2012 The war for souls
begins.”
In my humble opinion, this is Whitley Streiber’s best book to date, and I have
been careful not to spoil it for you, yet whet your appetite for a book that
the cover claims is headed to be a major motion picture!
Enjoy The Grays!

Streblow's book
Gray Folks is on the lighter side
Gray
Folks
by Mary A. Streblow
ISBN
1-412009-78-2
Trafford
Publishing, Canada, 2004
122 pages, paperback
Gray
Folks: Earth and Beyond is a delightful collection of Mary Streblow’s
clever array of cartoons with an ET theme. Mary is the cartoonist who
contributed to Carol Elek’s newsletter, The MotherShip Chronicles, now
— unfortunately — out of print.
Besides
being an artist, Mary Streblow has written several books, including The
Strange, But True Life of Myra Wolberts series, and Tales in the Dark,
co-authored with Sherri Kay Dobek. The latter contains science fiction
stories, supernatural, adventure and mystery.
It had
to have taken a lot of imagination to come up with all the different cartoon
gags in Mary’s book. One common theme is that all the cartoons center around
those slant-eyed Grays.
A
resident of Omaha, Neb., Mary Streblow took journalism and creative writing
classes in high school, and although she majored in business during college
years, she became involved with the school’s newspaper.
She enjoys writing short stories and in the 1980s she published a children’s
book, The Knight Who Ran.
If you
like ET cartoons, you’ll like this one.
