True Forgiveness

Forgiveness has always been one of the highest spiritual goals. Religions deem
it a necessary factor in attaining enlightenment or entrance into Heaven.
Exactly what is true forgiveness? What about people that perform unforgivable
acts such as murder and child abuse? How can we truly forgive them? The answer
lies in shifting perception and looking beyond the illusion of the physical
dimension.
The world’s idea of
forgiveness is quite different from true forgiveness. To most people,
forgiveness means “You have done this horrible thing to me, BUT out of the
goodness of my heart, I am willing to forget about it.” In this form of
forgiveness, the error of the other person is dually noted and acknowledged.
The one doing the forgiving is obviously the more advanced of the two beings
and is willing to overlook the error of the other.
True forgiveness, on the
other hand, sees no error! True forgiveness sees no victims! Thus, with true
forgiveness there is nothing to forgive! To come to this state of forgiveness,
we must remember who we are. As children of God, we know that we create our
reality. We draw things to us superconsciously, consciously or subconsciously.
All events in our lives are opportunities for us to evolve and grow.
Prior to incarnation,
souls enter into contracts with other souls to help them learn lessons that
are essential for their spiritual development. We do not know another’s soul’s
path. From our limited perspective, we cannot see the bigger picture. We do
not know what another soul wishes to accomplish by having the experiences that
they are having.
What we can realize and
understand is that all is in divine order and that there are no accidents.
When we learn not to judge, we can attain true forgiveness, which actually
requires no forgiveness at all! The other thing to keep in mind is that we are
not bodies but spiritual beings. No one is ever really harmed or killed. The
physical dimension is our “school” and our playground. We have had many
physical lives. We have all been the murder and the saint, the abuser and the
abused. We have played all the roles over eons of time.
This does not make true
forgiveness easy! On the contrary, it is quite difficult. The illusion of the
physical dimension is very powerful. When we see someone we love going through
horrific things, we easily forget the truth of our being. It is almost
impossible to step back from the situation and to see beyond what your
physical senses are showing you.
Remember to ask for
guidance. Non-physical help is always available to you. You are never alone.
